LET’S CELEBRATE AND GIVE AWAY ALL THE BOOKS!
Hi everyone! *waves frantically* We have a big, huge, amazing, awesome announcement with some giveaways! So we’re just going to cut to the point because we can’t hold it in anymore!
WE NOW HAVE A THIRD CO-BLOGGER!!!!
This girl has been an awesome friend to me (Kelly) for a while now and I’m so happy to announce this!
Please welcome Melissa Lee as our new co-blogger on Live, Love, Read!
We had been talking about blogging together for a few weeks after we read Trial by Fire together and fangirled like there was no tomorrow. When I brought Lauren on, Melissa finally decided to join as well! We’re going to make an AWESOME team and I’m so excited to have her here, blogging, talking, and working with us. She’s such a wonderful person to be around and I love now having an excuse to call her every day! Ha!! Sorry Melissa, you’ll get tired of me soon, I promise. =P Now, I’ll let Melissa talk because I’m not trying to ramble on and get all emotional like last time. HERE’S MELISSA!!!! **********************************************************************************************
Hello everyone! My name is Melissa and I’ll be the third blogger on Live, Love, Read. Some of you may know me as a co-podcaster on Novelty Podcast. Don’t worry I’ll still be doing that with my girls! I just thought it would be fun to also have somewhere to post my thoughts. I was so fortunate to meet Kelly and Lauren through the On The Same Page Secret Sister! They have both welcomed me with open arms and I can’t wait to get started. Here’s a little glance at what bookish things I like:

Reading Alanna by Tamora Pierce as a child when I loved Alanna because she was so persistent in everything she could to follow her dream of becoming a knight. Back then I just thought she was super bad ass for disguising herself as a boy and going through rigorous training and overcoming ridicule. Now that I think back, it was definitely a turning point in my life where I understood the concept of gender roles and also girls could do everything boys could at that age.

Welcome Melissa. Yeah, I haven’t finished “The Mortal Instruments” either. I still have the last two books in the series to read as well as the spinoff series “The Infernal Devices.”
And I’ve got to agree with her on Sturmhond!

I’ve just had so much else to read. Which would you recommend more: the last two “The Mortal Instruments” or all three “The Infernal Devices?”

*EDIT* Wait I didn’t realize you were talking to Kelly…
I actually haven’t finished the series. So many people told me that they adored The Infernal Devices more than The Mortal Instruments. A friend told me that she read TID first before TMI even though Cassie wrote TMI first. So I’m guessing it won’t spoil anything if you read it first. I have also heard that the first three books in The Mortal Instruments are the best out of the 6 since it was supposed to be a trilogy originally. Again I have only read the first two TMI books, so I’m not the best person to ask. The only advice I have is, read The Infernal Devices before you pick up City of Heavenly Fire for spoiler reasons.

Welcome Melissa. Great answers. I read a lot at night in bed as well. Seems to be the most comfortable place to read.

Just a lovely, sweet, respectful boy from “P.S. I Still Love You” by Jenny Han. I’m in love with Peter, but I couldn’t resist the charms of John Ambrose McClaren!

Ahh… that now makes sense. My lack of knowledge in the Contemporary YA genre strikes again!

Haha, yeah, I’m really not that knowledgeable about the Contemporary genre either, but that series happened to be one that I’ve read.

Welcome!!! I feel terrible, as I have yet to read any Rick Riordan. I did buy Percy and the Lightning Thief last week, but it’ll have to wait until after YALC this weekend and my read-a-thon next week.
I also need to catch up on The Mortal Instruments series, as I’ve only read the first three books. I’m nursing the 4th book now, but it’s not my main read.
Can’t wait to read your reviews!
